OpenAI introduced a new search feature in ChatGPT that covers the entire conversation history, including files, images, and projects. It works via the sidebar with filters by content type.

The feature is available on web, iOS, and Android for all plans, including free. It launched alongside GPT-5.6 and the ChatGPT Work agent, which manages ongoing projects instead of single queries.
